One of the most important macro-nutrients for repairing muscle and facilitating post exercise recovery is protein. Ideally this should come from meat and egg sources. However, supplementation with isolated whey protein can be beneficial. Today, many athletes may be considering living on a vegan diet. This may be possible, but a vegan athlete will need to consume a considerably larger amount of protein as compared to their non vegan counterparts because of the inferior protein source.
